Hostal Cusi Wasi in Cusco, Peru

Cusi Wasi entrance

Hostal Cusi Wasi is located in the northern part of Cusco’s Plaza del Arma, about 10 minutes walk. Cusi Wasi means Happy House in Quechua, and their goal is to make you feel that way during your stay. Housed in a beautiful renovated old colonial house, it’s a warm and welcoming hostal staffed with efficient and friendly people who makes you feel like home.

The rooms are bright and cheerful. Each room comes with a private bathroom, cable TV, 24 hr hot water (even for the sink), a room heater, and plenty of towels. Wifi is available throughout the building. Plenty of outlets are available as well as a small closet to store your clothes.

There’s brightly lit lounge where guests can relax and enjoy cocktails and beers from the hostal’s in-house bar. It’s beautifully decorated with plants, comfortable couches, and authentic Incan artifacts.

Gas heaters are turned on for those cold nights. Self-serve free coffee and tea are available for guests at any time. Breakfasts are included in the price and it comes with juice, coffee/tea, eggs, cheese/ham slices, and fresh bread.

Unusually for a hostal in this area, Hostal Cusi Wasi comes equipped with a small kitchen for guests to use. Which is very great if you don’t feel like eating out. There’s a small dining room attached to the kitchen as well.
