Hostal Tiana

Hostal Tiana in central Latacunga, Ecuador, is a vibrant and friendly place to begin your adventures at Cotopaxi, the famous Saquisili market, or the Quilatoa Loop. The rooms are spacious and modern, equipped with plenty of electrical outlets and super-fast WiFi internet. There are also several computers with Internet for those who don’t have laptops. The bathrooms are clean, large, and have abundant hot water. The best part: the bathtub/shower combinations! (Really, how often are you able to take an actual bath in a hostel?) The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, with maps and tons of information on regional activities. A continental breakfast is included in the price of the room, and guests are invited to use the kitchen to prepare their own dinners. There is a nice place to hang out near the kitchen close to the free, always-hot tea and real coffee (not that instant stuff). Another nice spot is on the roof where you can soak up the equatorial sun in a bean bag chair while gazing at the magnificent Volcán Cotopaxi in the distance.

Great places to relax.

All in all, Hostal Tiana is a fantastic place to spend the night or a couple of days. There are enough activities in the area to keep even the most adventurous souls busy and the landscape is absolutely fantastic. If you’re planning on coming through Latacunga, try to make your reservation in advance because the hostel is by far the best in town and fills up fast!
